In this portrait series, we journeyed through time, imagination, and self-reflection. Residents of Berry College and the Spires Community delved into their past and envisioned their future through the power of dress-up costumes. Created by artists Amy Scatliff and Saul Portillo, the project explored two questions: Costume One: What did the adults in our lives imagine us becoming during our childhood, and Costume Two: Who did we personally dream of becoming as adults? Participants visually depicted these contrasting identities by donning costumes and selecting props, sparking thought-provoking conversations with one another about life, expectations, and aspirations. The project culminated with participants sharing their pictures with the community, igniting further discussions among friends and family. Additionally, the project seeks to raise awareness through its online presence, inspiring viewers to reflect on the questions surrounding adulthood.
